Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzgerald
Well, Hush, Hush, was pretty okay. I wasn't entirely thrilled at the beginning--you kind of already knew that Patch was the Fallen Angel. I liked Nora--she was a good role model, instead of girls being like Bella Swan, they could be a TALL (which I really liked), somewhat optimistic, smart, powerful Nora Grey.
At first, we meet Chauncey in a flashback, Patch's human whom he takes over once a year. Then, we go to Nora's point of view, where we meet Patch, the mysterious new senior. He's pretty much a dog.
I have to admit, I liked the comic relief of Vee, Nora's tall, a bit chubby friend. I wasn't into the story until the end.
I'd suggest it, maybe, MAYBE if I read it again.

Hunger By Michael Grant

Okay....Now we're talkin'! Check out everything else that's on the blog! I didn't use my other website for this post, sooooo--here we go!
Hunger--
A continuation of Gone, a darkly funny horror doomsday situation that I'd suggest to anyone
Sam, Astrid, Quinn, and Edlilio (whom, is now my favorite character) and the rest of the FAYZ kids are still trapped--and running low on food. They're trying desperately to find food, while Caine and Drake have come back from their meeting with the Gaiphaige. The Coates kids who are still up there are in greater need of food than the kids down in Peridido Beach.
Then, Caine realizes there's only one way to gain control of Peridido Beach--Through the power plant.
Kids in Peridido Beach are now against each other--Brother against Sister, Friend against Friend, Roommate against Roommate,
Moof against Normal.
Sam is dealing with dreams of worry and horror. Caine keeps on repeating a timeless quote--Hungry in the dark-- and we still don't know how this happened. Luckily, we're just reading it.

'Gone' By Michael Grant
Well, this week, I'm going to do two posts.
The first one is about 'Gone'. This is really from my other website that didn't really work, skimorread.wetpaint.com
When I stumbled across Gone, I thought it looked pretty good, and, I was right. Gone is a complex doomsday situation. All of the adults (and kids at or above 15) in the town of Peridido Beach, California, disappear. This leaves all of the other kids behind. Of course, they go ballistic, and some try to take over the area, now called the FAYZ (Fallout Alley Youth Zone).
Soon, we find kids are forming powers, and the war begins between the 'Coates Kids', the bullies, and the few who still are sane and have decency in them.
The story is narrative, and is mostly centered around Sam Temple (the hero, 14), Astrid Ellison (the genius, 14), and Quinn Gaither (Sam's best friend, 14).
I'd suggest this book to anyone looking to find a nice series to be sucked into. :-)
Hey y'all!
Welcome to skim or read! This is a blog site about the books i'm reading. I'll publish reviews (hopefully) every two weeks! Check us out!
